The privacy of your personal information is paramount. Clients must authorize the brokerage to obtain personal information by signing a “consent form” or by agreeing to their consent on our online application form . By agreeing their consent, clients acknowledge that the brokerage will use this information to evaluate and respond to their request for mortgage financing and authorize the brokerage to obtain any information required for this purpose.
The information gathered will be disclosed to potential mortgage lenders and insurers, as well as organizations providing technological or other support services required in relation to the mortgage application and any other parties with whom clients have a financial relationship.
All client information gathered in the course of a mortgage transaction is stored in paper file format for seven (7) years at the offices of the mortgage brokerage. In addition, an electronic file is stored on a secure server with Filogix, the provider of the mortgage software the brokerage and the lenders use to facilitate the mortgage transaction.
As a mortgage file progresses, clients will be required to sign mortgage documents as well as a written consent form and a client disclosure statement, which outlines the mortgage brokerage's role and the client's role in obtaining mortgage financing.
Additionally, no client information shall ever be disclosed or disseminated for any other purpose than to obtain mortgage financing unless the client gives the mortgage brokerage explicit written consent. The brokerage shall only discuss the details of a client’s mortgage transaction with brokerage staff working on the deal and with potential lenders. If a client would like information regarding the mortgage transaction given to another party (e.g. parent, spouse), the client must provide written consent.
